New Classes and Others

Awwwh, that's a shame. I am very open to new stuff as a DM (as long the right to modify and revoke is there). That is how I approach any 3rd party material. Rarely had a problem with it.

It is certainly how I would go about playtesting home brews. I would encourage people to use them. How else are you going to know whether they work? I mean that is exactly what other people will need to do for you. Pity you couldn't see your own creations at work.

Anyway, I have included a couple of the classes in our campaign 'class section'. The lancer especially fits my African-themed campaign - they have become the expert spear fighters. Lightly armored dreadnaughts sound OK too. Big weapon strikers is appropriate, though I am not sure on the name. I picture a very heavily armored fighter when I hear dreadnought.

Oh, and included sorcerer sentinel too. And we just had our first death, so these three choices are on the cards along with others.

Don't forget to remind us when the files are updated ;)

Cheers, C

Well, after the curent DM finishes his campaign, I'll be back on, so I can start the playtesting then.

As for lightly armored Dreadnoughts, that won't be too effective. The Dreadnought fuels of of Constitution and Charisma. Without Dexterity or Intelligence being primary or secondary, his AC is going to fall way behind very quickly.

As for updates, yeah, I've been a bit lax.

Gamble PDF is updated with a few minor power corections.

Summoned PDF is updated with a new 29th level powers and the Summoner's Resilience feat now requires you to be a summoner.

The Sorcerous Sentinel has recieved a major overhaul. PDF is updated.

My Work in Progress has been delayed by a small case of writer's block. I hope to be back onto it soon. Howver, powers are completed to 13th level.

Cool, thanks for the updates - I was just saying that so that those of us using them know when we have the latest version. (Could even date OP).

As for the dreadnought, I meant you have built it with Reflex and relatively light armors. I was just saying I hear the word dreadnought I picture the exact opposite to this. I see a very heavily armored warrior that makes up for lack of mobility with more armor. Nothing wrong with class as you have built it - just the same seems strange (and I will probably use a different one in my campaign...but what I am not sure yet). ;)

Good luck for your future playtests.

Thats what I was saying though. Dreadnoughts are going to have to pack heavy armor, since Dexterity and Intelligence aren't needed stats for the dreadnought.

Anyways, I've never seen that book.

Additionally, the Work In Progress has been updated with powers through 19th level.

Lancer has been updated, mostly just some spelling errors.

Added a new Epic Destiny that was previously within the Lancer PDF, the Weapon Master, now with it's own download.

Work In Progress is now complete through level 25.

Still looking for critiques and suggestions, if anybody cares to offer them. Particuarly names for the work in progress.

good to see you're still at it, ff6shadow. :) Consider putting these in the wiki, too, in case the thread gets lost or dropped off the front page of the forums.

Also, if you ever decide to run a game over MapTool or OpenRPG, please let me know. I'd love to test run this stuff.

OK, player has just rolled up 4th lvl gamba (dreadnought).

So far so good - haven't seen anything stand out in game play, though we did tone down one of his initial powers. Can;t remember which off the top of my head, but it involved getting +2 att and dam or something, which seemed more powerful than a ranger by comparison.

Anyway, will give you more details as we go. :)

The power your refering to could only be Maniacal Focus. And it's a daily, 2[W] + Strength damage and giving you +2 to hit and +4 to damage against a single target for the rest of the encounter. Half these bonuses and no damage if you miss.

It is a direct copy of a fighter power of the same level. How can it be too strong?
