New Company Needs Help with Name Take 2

I voted for Black Anvil Press.
Nice ring to it.

But I kinda like Seven Sins Studio, just because it could be shortened to S3.
As in - "Have you tried the new S3 adventure?"

BAP just doesn't abbreviate well

If it were changed to "Black Anvil Games", it wouldn't abbreviate any better (BAG). Better than BAP, though, on the abbreviation front. The others are too dark/gritty/bizarre for consideration, methinks. "Grim Ledger" is the one I voted for simply because I liked Black Anvil better

I'm not Dr. Anomalous, but I felt the same way, so:

Thanks for saving me typing, Archastrel. That about sums it it, but treble the negativity. The ol' Doc is a mite allergic to "Dark" "Angst" "Grim & Gritty", etc. I'm espoused of a more cinematic, less Jason-Meets-A-Bus-Load-Of-Nuns approach.

To help you better understand, if someone bought me a Book of Vile Darkness, I'd shred it and use it to save on cat litter.

Just my Anomolous opinion.

Good points, but drop "Erudite Intermissions". First neuron that sparked in my brain said "Huh... Nocturnal Emissions?"

Black Anvil Press sounds neat.

I second that you should avoid using Inc or LLC unless you have those company statuses.

To me the best names are either one-word or something unique that is not similar to existing names, e.g. Good: Troll Stew, Wizards-Hat, Smelly Ogre Brew. Bad: Malhovak, Wazards, Trollqueen, and Gnomish Turpentine*.

*While I wouldn't name my company that, I guess you could make a case for it

Perhaps just Black Anvil? BA has got to better than BAG or BAP! For that matter, I may just have to go with Grim Ledger or Chaos Theory and avoid the bad acronyms altogether...

We wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who voted in this poll, gave suggestions, or offered encouragement.

After careful consideration, we thought that so many EN Worlders couldn't be wrong and we decided to go with Black Anvil Design for our dark fantasy campaign and adventures.
