New Convention in July

Well, I've been reading on these boards for months now, but never really had a reason to post until now. But, my reason for posting now is huge ( at least for me any ways.) You see, I'm part of a group hoping to start a new convention this July called ConnectiCon and it's being held in Hartford, CT at the University of Hartford. As the director of gaming for the convention, I figured it'd make sense for me to start spreading the word here. Our site with all the information we have so far (things are still in the works: events being planned, guests confirming and what not) is at http://www.connecticon.org. I hope everyone comes, checks out our site, sees what we're all about, maybe register and post on the forums. Well, hope to get feedback from people on what you all think.

Thanks Airwolf. I've been here a while now but never had a need to really make an appearance. Of course, now I need to get as much visibility as possible. I could really use a lot of feedback from everyone here, especially towards the end of whether or not the convention actually interests anyone. Well, I'm hoping to hear from you anyone in the area who might want to attend.

I lived in southern NJ, probably 3 hours way, and am thinking about coming. I used to go to ConCon, do you know Wlley, battletech Willey? I think everyone does.

Anyway, I checked your page out and there is no info on D&D games. If I can come ,and I won't know for awhile, I would be willing to run some. Keep this thread going.

Yeah, we're still hammering out all the details, but I know we really want to a have a huge gaming presence, and it's totally my job to see that it happens. We should have all of the volunteer information up before the end of this week. I'm actually hoping to find some time to run a game there myself, but with the whole helping run the convention thing, I'm not sure I'll have that kind of time.

I would not reccomend running a game if you are the guy in charge. You'll end up messing one up!

Oh, I'm pretty much aware that I can't really run something, but I like to hold onto my dreams. It will be a shame, cause I love to play D&D, love to run games, and I will have to spend a weekend watchign people play and not have the time to jump in myself.

On a side note, I just found out we have an actual confirmed guest. We have Glenn Shadix , who is of Beetlejuice and Demolition Man Fame. It's kind of exciting news.

Trenton, I'm about 90 minutes from you (if your handle is really where you reside) if you decide to go maybe we can car pool, my car not making it is the only thing keeping me from going.
