Where I take it as the norm; as in, why else would you want to play in a "famous" setting like that?
Because you like the setting. Because you have ideas for stories particular or even just well suited to that world. Because there are elements of the setting you want to explore that are touched on but not dug into in the original work.
Because I'd hope to be improving the setting for all involved rather than fracking the game. :)
Okay but imagine for the moment that the group has made clear that they want to take the game seriously.
