New D&D video game in the works. Its a MMO

Too bad it's an MMO, which in and of itself pretty much takes me out of the market to play it. I want to buy a game and play it, not rent server space for a character by subscription.

Not to mention that most of the video games these days come on these doggone "Dee Vee Dees", instead of cartridges, like God intended!

That was Ultima Online in its early days, IMO

The best MMO, in fact, it's World of Warcraft. No other can barely compare.

Not if you are looking for a game for your 10 year old son, no. If you actually want a game which is even remotely challenging, WoW is not the game for you.

For me, I don't play MMO simply because I recognize my Achilles' heel when I see it. I know that such games would be my addictive drug of choice and there'd be no getting out of it. In some of the gaming circles around here where I live, Everquest was called Evercrack and for good reason too.

Wish the game company success, but don't count me to play otherwise no one will hear from me ever again......

But otherwise, I am 100% like you. I do not play MMO's anymore, because I know I spend way too much time on them if I do..

Sure, Wow is easy... but I'm old school on videogames. I played Battletoads and Ninja Gaiden on NES (8 bits)

Heh, I played Ultima Pagan before the jumping patch...

There's no game these days not even close to that difficulty, I got my share of pain and welcome these casual days of Wow.

Okay, I didn't know if it was a local slang or something of a epidemic elsewhere. I know in China where my wife is from, they have a huge addiction problem. The other day I was talking with my wife's friends over dinner and the husband was talking about that his wife almost left him because of his time spent on WoW and that he's forbidden to play any of those games on the computer.

Around here, I got the usual stories of divorce, job terminations, and even a bankruptcy because of Evercrack.

To reiterate, I don't think it's these games themselves, but just the over-addictive behavior of the gamers and I know that I would certainly be one of them should I ever sit down to open my own account. I like being married, so I stay away.

After another Summer doing almost nothing but playing video games, I can safely assume I am some combination of addicted and extremely lazy, hehe, hehehehe, he, he...

( And I have never really touched a serious MMO, though when I was younger I was glued to MUDs, . )

I can't quite place my finger on it, but there is just a fundamental part of what makes an MMO and MMO that I just cannot get into. I've tried a few, and I just cannot stay interested. WoW was the longest I played one (a few months), but that can mostly be attributed to the fact many of my friends were playing at the same time.
