New Dungeon Article

Can someone please tell what level this adventure is for? All I can see is "Heroic Tier", which does nothing for me. I'm sure it's there, but I can't find it. I'm old.

BTW, I too think that Dungeon needs to concentrate on some the heroic tier, especially at the lower levels for the next month or two. Issue 154 actually did this, but its lowest level content was taken up with the Keep on the Shadowfell expansions (great work by the way!). I'm hoping that in issue 155, if Dungeon releases 3 adventures, that of the ones not related to the AP, one is low to mid-low heroic tier and the other one is of a higher level, as I do want to see some examples of a paragon and epic tier adventure.

I suppose that's been the official name of the language at the time the adventure was written. All of the 4E adventures/articles had several things that don't match the printed rules./QUOTE]

Another great use of the digital medium - keeping an outdated editing schedule so you can't FIX things like this.

maybe once the new editor they're hiring starts up things will flow better?

Als, I wonder if it's not actually a mistake, and it's just a language we haven't seen yet?

Very large and juicy adventure... Skimming it reveals a number of annoying points though...

"The PC isn't frightened until..." Saying how the PCs should react isn't a good idea.

"Allow the PCs to react as they like." Implying that you shouldn't normally?

"Allow the PCs to take charge of the situation" Again, assuming the PCs do.

In third edition, that would have been bad form. I don't know if it's any more acceptable in 4th, or if this is just an example of someone getting something in just before the deadline. In any case, it does seem to be continuing the annoying trend I picked up on in the core books of treating the reader like they're eight years old.

Would it kill the WotC web people to put what level the adventure is somewhere in the download page? Unless I'm missing an option to view previous Table of Contents (or missing something obvious) it looks like you have to download old adventures to see what level they are for. :(

Please please why do they have to keep using the delve format?

It's even worse now that we've had a taste of a wotc adventure that had sensible layout.

What do you mean by "the delve format"?

Which WotC adventure are you referring to and what do you mean by "a sensible layout"?

If you're comparing Sleeper with KotS, then I agree KotS was much superior to it in layout (though it had its own glaring problems elsewhere, on top of being generic and bland - and Sleeper seems no better on that account either).

It's bad form if you're playing tiddlywinks. ;)
