A lot of people didn't have trouble with 3.0 Haste in their campaigns. Did that make it any less broken?

I'm just going to answer these two points.

1) Quite a lot of kit? Bag of Holding type II and a HHH is 30 lbs. That's just two items that at high level many PCs are likely to have, as it lets them carry scads more. That's not a lot of gear, and it doesn't even include a weapon, and it's hardly 'contrived'.

2) If the Monk's Belt was as 'broken' as you and Infiniti2000 claim, there would be *many* posts about how it's broken, like there were (using your example) of 3.0 Haste. Yet, where are they? We'd see *many* posts about how the item wrecked a campaign. Yet, the only post I'm aware of so far shows that the item *hasn't* disrupted the game it's in. If we're using posts about the item as empirical evidence now, it doesn't seem to be supporting your side.
