New Feats: "Conceal Casting", and "Cast on the Run"

The only question I have about the two feats now is, as Metamagic spells, don't they need to state how much they add to the level of the spell, even if it is zero (like Metamagic feats that affect only metamagicked spells)? I don't think either one of them should increase the level of the spells in question, though.

I don't think concentrating on spellcasting looks different from concentration on anything else.

The appearance of concentration is a matter of controlling your facial expressions and body language, so I think this should be handled as a use of Bluff rather than a feat.

Conceal Casting is a very weak feat compared to the trade off of in losing another metamagic feat, like Empower Spell.

On the other hand, Casting while Moving is cool. I think it should not be 'defensive' spells. There is no rule mechanism that sets such spells apart. It should probably read 'personal spells'.

Given that Casting while moving is definitely a spell of lower level utility- what with spells like dimension door, haste, and so on, 4 feats is also a bit high a requirement. So that's another reason to eliminate Conceal Casting.

Well, I haven't playtested them, so I can't say for sure. They were just solutions to a problem. They were originally General spells, and I'm starting to consider setting them back to that.

Cast on the Run should, IMO, at least require still and silent spell, since somantic gestures would be incorrect while you are moving fast, and heavy breathing would disrupt verbal components. The reason I had it require Conceal Casting is that it was pointed out that even if you can conceal you concentration, you still have to concentrate, and so would slow down, become unable to dodge, etc. And so I added this feat to allow running while casting. But maybe they shouldn't be in a feat tree together. I don't know, I really need to sleep. I'll check in the morning.

So you can cast a spell in the same round as a double-move or run action?...

That sounds like a weaker Quicken Spell... Right now it sounds like the spell becomes a free action when you are running or double-moving... Is this the case?...

If it is a free action, then it won't draw AoO... But I'm probably off and you were not thinking along these lines... Maybe more like you can insert a spell into a move action, like Spring Attack?... That would be worth a feat, if a little boring (Shot on the Run, Ride by Attack, Flyby Attack, now this)... I like the idea of a fleeing Wizard casting Invisibility while running, though...
