New FFG Sale

If only they had the Starfarer's Handbook :( I have a few friends I'd pick up the SFHB and the Guide to the Galaxy, but not the Guide alone.

I think I'll look around for some of those Dragonstar boxed sets for sale anywhere.

Now, I've already got all their Blue Planet books - though if you don't, I strongly recommend you pick them up. All of them. It's one of the most inspired hard SF settings out there, second to only Transhuman Space, and you will regret it if you don't get it while you still have the chance.

I heartily agree. This setting is awesome -- even if you only end up using it as inspiration for games in other settings. It was written by a marine biologist and is the most incredibly rich, plausible "waterworld" I've seen.

I bought the core books at FFG's last sale, and as soon as I glanced over them, I ordered every other book in the series (Fortunately, the sale was still on). Blue Planet rocks.

Seems like Fantasy Flight Games is having another sale - selling a bunch of their books for $5 apiece.

Most cool. Just did the board/card game thing. $30.00 for a nice set of games AND I told most of my gaming buddies! Thanks for letting us all know about the sale!

I must say their website sucks for the actual buying of things. I was trying to get the $1.00 mini-adventures, and I could only figure out how to order 3 of them. Others were out of stock and others, which one part of the site lists as being in-stock don't show up in any form.

On top of that, it appears you can't search based on stock numbers.

Ah well. Can't complain too much about the company that brought me the Game of Thrones board game.... (Which is my favorite game of the last 5 years probably.)

How is the Hobbit board game?

I've not played it. But the reviews are all pretty bad. That said, people tend to agree that it has great production values AND it is probably a good game for a 6-8 year old. As my (soon to be) 4 year old always wants to play with daddy's games, I figured it was a good way to blow $5.00.

(Board game geek is a great place to go for reviews of board/card games.)

Blah. I figured it couldn't be that good, since the best-known FFG board games aren't up for sale, but I was hoping for a miracle. ;)

I'm tempted by Spellslinger, though.

That Call of Cthulu book looks kinda cool. Is it any good?
I liked it, and its definitely worth five dollars!

Seemed like a handy thing to have in case I ever got a chance to run d20 Call of Cthulhu, since I suck at writing horror adventures. So far, my players are sticking with D&D, so I haven't had a chance to see how it plays.

There isn't anything much in their sale which appeals to me, largely because I spent so much on their last sale!

Their international shipping costs are horrifically high, for some reason.

So, I'll have to give this one a miss. Well, me and the others from around here who might have been interested otherwise.

:(
