I saw an entry for Gnome Illusionist, and it was tied to racial substitution levels. Something having to do with the race of gnomes being good at illusions or something, apparently.
Unfortunatly, that's not a full-fledged, 20-level, class and not applicable for this poll.

You of course (also) noted the Gnome Ranger, which is an entry, and how it was tied to racial substitution levels. Something having to do with the race of gnomes being good at rangering or something. Or, perhaps the Gnome Bard, an entry tied to racial substitution levels. Something having to do with the race of gnomes being good at barding or something.

But surely if you're going to cite the list for evidence of the Illusionist not being a viable option, then having racial substituion levels for Gnome Illusionist when there is no other wizardy option there doesn't help; it shows that wizards understands the link between Gnomes and Illusion, even if they changed their 30 year favored class and don't have an explicit entry for Illusionist. It's flavor.

Or, perhaps the Gnome Bard, an entry tied to racial substitution levels. Something having to do with the race of gnomes being good at barding or something.
Well, looks like the 31 people who voted Bard and the 0 people who voted Ranger are happy. Shucks for those who would have voted Illusionist, eh?

Dustyboots beat me to it; they already get a +1 to Illusions. Or would you rather that they not also be able to get Spell Focus and Greater Spell Focus to stack with the racial benefit?
Yeah, gnome illusionists are pretty fearsome, even without gnome illusionist levels from Races of Stone.

Look, if Wizards ain't listing it on ther own site, then perhaps they are implying something?

See here for more details.

I give up, it's your poll to run as you see fit, regardless of how many folks tell you the option you missed.

If you think the UA class variants are more classes then Specialist Wizards, so be it, I figured this was a poll by/for fans.

... let's face it, they're CALLED Santa's Elves, but we all know they're really GNOMES.

I've been saying this for years! When will people wake up to the truth?! For what it matters, I went with Spellthief. Between the spell stealing/knowledge and the disable device expertise, what better class is there for the resident tinkerer race. I've neglected to look over the artificer yet, though. For all I know, the majority may be right.
