New Jedi Order Campaign

Hey, Im a GM for SWRPG, and I was wondering if anyone has tried a New Jedi Order Campaign yet. I have the Source book, but Ive never really used it. Replies please on opinions.

Well, the things to look at in a NJO campaign are the relative lethality of the Yuuzhan Vong and the early futility of the Republic's efforts to fight. For over half the book series, the Republic was losing. Your players would be up against some pretty tough odds. Depending on if they're new players or not.

And the established story line really suffers from being too long, with far too many authors. NJO would have been better as a simple trilogy, like most of the rest of the expanded universe has been.

One author will show the republic losing, but illuminate a new technology/idea that can help them, and then the next author ignores said helpful technology, but expands upon the power of the Vong. It seemed (throughout the entire series) to be an exercise in how much you could make Star Wars cease to be Star Wars.

Anyway, the sourcebook is well written (as is most Star Wars D20 stuff) but the era is just no fun to play in, because if you're playing in the standard universe, you can't win AT ALL without drastically altering the timeline.
