New Modern?

I agree - I don't think a d20 modern based on 4e D&D would really have many legs, but one based on SWSE with some cleanup as drothgery mentions would be a real winner.
Cheers

And I third the motion. Although I like 4E quite a bit, the 4E I thought we were getting -- SAGA with the rough edges filed off -- was the system of my dreams. I'd look at a couple of the SAGA conversions on the board.
That said, I'd go with True20 or modern 20. Modern20 in particular is impressive for pure modern gameplay.
I don't have the book in front of me -- was the SAGA system OGL?
Aye; Modern20, True20, or Star Wars Saga are all good bases for designing 'modern2.0'.

I believe you will be able to buy it anywhere. And by anywhere, I mean the RPGO site, Amazon or your local game store.

Any update on this? I notice that several of the other Modern supplements from RPGObjects are now available in print. . . but Modern20 appears to have been left off the list.

You know I've heard a lot about these "Blood and" series, but I don't know anything about them. What's the deal? What makes them great? Are the books a seperate ruleset from d20 Modern or are the books add-ons to d20 Modern?

I have Blood and Fists (and the pdf of the master edition), Blood and Blades, and Modern High. All are fantastic and among my favorite d20 products.
My only complaint is that I wish Blood and Blades had used Elements of Magic: Mythic Earth (EN Publishing) and the Psychic's Handbook (Green Ronin)instead of the default WOTC fx systems.

Any ETA? I'm much looking forward to it, as Modern20 is the only d20 product I have the patience/time for anymore :)

We've still got a few details to hammer out, for example we're looking at Amazon's print prices and considering printing Modern20 in color.

We also needed to update the supplements to be fully compliant with Modern20 Revised edition, which I finished just tonight.

So it should be ready to go soon, probably be ready to go in 2 weeks give or take.

What has changed in the Revised edition?

We got rid of class skills, added about 100 weapons (it now covers the entire 20th century of small arms), and added about 30 feats.

But really, you can go see for yourself, the update is a free update for those who own the Modern20 PDF :)

I'm not sure how you would begin to translate 4e into modern terms... huge numbers of hit points with healing surges? Weapon groups being specific to different classes? Three tiers? Epic destines? What' does a modern Solo monster look like, apart from The Shredder and Count Dooku? How do you do gadgetry and special equipment in a game that disdains crafting?

Saga... hm. Honestly, for a modern game, I'd go with just one class, unified BAB and defenses, d8 for hit die, and then come up with different Talent groups. It would probably look very similar to True20 by the time I was done with it.
