New Monster Stat Block

While many find the new monster stat block useful (and it is convienant in some ways), I have to let out a few gripes about it.

1. It does not show the HD type or Con bonus the creature gets. This makes me have to look up the die type if I don't remember the creature type.

2. While it calculates Power Attack in the combat options section, it invariably does not show how mych Power Attack is being used! It can get complicated when you're trying to figure out how much PA Baphomet can use.

3. Are there any good sites for downloading .pdf's for all these monsters? Before, copying down monster stats in Word was not too difficult, but with the new stats it can be a chore. I don't DM at home, which means I either have too scan a monster in and print it out (and my scanner is currently broke :( ), carry the book with me, or type in the monster. To me, the old stat block was easier to do this with.

What we should do is fight the new stat block because while it is a sometimes useful resource it bends the minds of myself and others who have seen it. MM1,2,3 are prefered to 4 in my group. I wonder why they switched in the first place.

because supposedly some people found the old stat block confusing. i find their confusion confusing. ;)

No arguments from me, either.

After some use with it (thanks to Dungeon), I've discovered I despise the new stat block (the first two points especially irk me).

Further, with the new stat block I've discovered that advancing monsters is a complete and utter nightmare (and in most cases simply not worth it). Thanks a bunch, WotC - why don't you add to the already unreasonable 3e prep time a little more?

Bad, bad, bad.
