New name for warforged

Steampowered Life Nodes (SyLoNs)
The Heartless/Kettles

Some inspiration:

Lyrics to If I Only Had A Heart :
(Tin Man)
When a man's an empty kettle
He should be on his mettle
And yet I'm torn apart
Just because I'm presumin'
That I could be a human
If I only had a heart

I'd be tender, I'd be gentle
And awful sentimental
Regarding love and art
I'd be friends with the sparrows
And the boy that shoots the arrows
If I only had a heart

Picture me a balcony
Above a voice sings low

(Snow White)
Wherefore art thou, Romeo?

(Tin Man)
I hear a beat, how sweet!

Just to register emotion, jealousy, devotion
And really feel the part
I could stay young and chipper
And I'd lock it with a zipper

Promethean (not original but still good)

A.D.E.M. (Asses Decide Execute Manipulate), just a general description of what it does.

Jerrycans (Use as a derogatory term)

Company Men (Because they were created by companies for manual labor)

Scabs (Because anything attempting to replace the common working man is a scab).

For my setting the automata are often called Bullgines, originally an insulting term for maritime steam engines. In this case they are named for the most common automata - the Bullgine Model 8 Twin Stack, from Bullgine Maritime Engines Co.. The model 8 is both less expensive and more reliable than most on the market. Folks now belive that the term Bullgine came from Mr. Bullgine's name, however that was not his original name....

There are no laws governing the treatment of automata that have gained free will - the result is slavery of the free willed mechanica.

Here's the song that entered the term Bullgine into my vocabulary:

And a techno version?!!
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fs3NMT3a8LE]YouTube - Alan Mills - Let the Bullgine Run (Robin Hagglund Bootleg)[/ame]

The Auld Grump

Automata (from Penny-Arcade's warforged)

Modrons - what I personally use

Golems - nothing wrong with using that as the name

Looking at the society you envision made me think of Brave New World.

So the Automatons I could see being also called either Zeds or Omegas.
The "warforged" maybe are Alphas or Betas.

Other thoughts (mainly working from the idea that these are ultimate workers, better than humans)

Menschs - from UberMensch
Superiors
Omeganauts - (this has more of a Flash Gordon feel to it, maybe too pulpy)
Soulborn (Automatons could be refered to as Steamborn or Steelborn)
Andros
Homo Mechanus (as opposed to Sapien)

But you'll need a nickname and/or slur

Clanks
Toasters
Soulstealers (works on the idea that the souls they have are souls of dead humans)
Shineys
Silvers
