New Necromantic powers

Engilbrand

First Post
There's an article today with quite a few Necromantic powers for some of the classes. I'm surprised that I haven't seen anything about it. I'm at work, so I don't have access to it at the moment, but I thought that this might be a good chance for some of the people who do have access to make some comments.
When I checked it out this morning, I liked what I saw. The Wizard gets an Animate Dead Daily spell of 9 I believe. It allows you to turn a corpse into something you can attack with.
There are around 5 or 6 powers for the Wizard, Swordmage, Avenger, Bard, and Cleric. I think that's all.
Personally, I'm really going to look at the Swordmage powers again. I have a "Shadow Genasi" (Dhampyr Windsoul Genasi) Swordmage. The Necrotic powers really look to play into my character concept.

I only did a quick read of a couple parts. How is the whole article? What did you like or not like?

Warlock too. They have a nifty power that does, iirc, 2d8, and if one of your allies within 5 squares wants to lose a healign surge, it does an additional 2d8. Not specifically pact-typed, but it screams dark pact.

Actually, it is labeled Warlock (Dark) Attack. There are 2 Dark pact powers and 2 Infernal pact powers in the article.

I have to say, I'm not particularly impressed with Animate Dead. The creature it creates is so... Generic.

The one place it shows anything at all is in Reach. Your GM throw you up against a critter with Reach 4? Get the party to focus on it, and then animate. Now you've got reach 4. :)
