New OGL 3.5 System Compatible logo

Gareth hit the nail squarely. Other publishers have created OGL style logos before and offered them freely. Personally, I favor the one created by Mongoose (which also allows any publisher to use it freely) several years ago. But that is just my opinion.

I like the one Grim Tales used. Looked cool, got the idea across more than just "OGL", but "d20 based". Which, if you are shopping for compatibility, is the important part. (OGL is just a license not any sort of set of system assumptions and non-d20 games use OGL.)

I think the "OGL is not a system" argument is for purists alone. It is, of course, totally undeniable - the OGL is not a system. Period. However, the logo is about an association of ideas and 'OGL 3.5' seems pretty much to cover that base IMO. It (for me) gives a good indication of what you are likely to find inside the cover. It's what the consumer associates with the logo, not what the logo says about the license IMO.

I'd certainly be willing (and glad) to use a common logo except that my products employ the d20 Modern & d20 Future open content so "3.5" isn't really applicable.

If someone come us with a 100% legal (and free) OGL modern or sci-fi logo, I'll jump on that bandwagon. :D

EDIT: And if this (d20 modern logo) is being discussed somewhere else, please give me a pointer.
