He never did actually attack Nale with lethal force.

Sure, he was just about to, but he was stopped short of it. Heh. Stopped Short.

So I don't think the Mark had an opportunity to activate.

I like how Nale immediately realized what was causing the conflict with the charm person...

However he didn't actually tell Belkar not to tell his allies that "Elan" is actually Nale. So, if he could work it into the musical, he could tell them the news. And, of course, I'm not sure if Nale understands Belkar very well. Do you really think that Belkar considers, say, Varsuvius to be his ally?

Yeah, I gotta say, Nale is pretty sloppy for a villain. He's got cojones, but no skills to back him up.

Where's his Profession (acting) skill modifier? In the terlet (click at your own risk!)? Every villain knows Charm Person is only reliable on commoners, never on adventurers! And why not have Haley meet him on a lonely abandoned peir in the middle of the night and then dress up in a chicken suit and try to kill her, so she can't make the connection?

Psh. Sloppy villainy like that *deserves* to be exposed. :)

Here is what I am thinking. Since Nale is Elan's evil opposite, he has to have a dump stat that is similar to Elan's Intelligence score. We know that Elan has maxed out Charisma, and has an abysmally low Intelligence, but he seems to be reasonably okay for most of his other scores.

So what is Nale's dump stat? Clearly he has a reasonably good Intelligence score. As a sorcerer, he needs a high Charisma to be able to cast spells. He's a fighter who uses a longsword, so I'm guessing his Strength is adequate enough that he doesn't need Weapon Finesse. He doesn't seem to be particularly clumsy or physically fragile. So, what does that leave?

Wisdom. Nale's dump stat is Wisdom. He is as unwise and rash as Elan is stupid. Why else would he take so many foolish chances? (Getting caught kissing the shapeshifted Sabine, trying to score with Haley while Sabine is away, etc.) Why else would he so wildly overestimate his own abilities? ("I'm smarter than Xykon", sure you are.) His achilles heel is his low Wisdom score.

But would Belkar want to? After all, Nale is his friend, and not telling them is probably more fun from Belkar's viewpoint.
