New PrC: Summoner

Jolly Giant

First Post
Just 'finished' this one. Feel it still lacks something, though. Would be great if you could check it out and give me some feedback. Anybody got a good idea for what Flexible Summoning 5 could be?

The class should work out ok for wizars and clerics, as it gets new casterlevels at each level, but it's probably gonna be a bit weak for druids. They're giving up Wild Shape, after all...

Kind of interesting. I don't know if I would use it with a PC though, but it would be really fun for an NPC. Especially in a high level campaign.

Even if I did use it for an NPC I would likely only use it on a Conjurer Speciality Wizard, and not likely anything else.

Great idea, just seems a little to focused for my tastes.

Conjurers are of course the most likely to take such a class, but I wanted to make it flexible enough to be usable by other classes. I'm still considering changing it, so it only applies to Summon Monster-casters, not Summon Nature's Ally. Fits the concept better, I feel. I don't really see a druid taking up the class anyway, he would be giving up to much...

Something that could be interesting is increasing their divination abilities as well. If they have a few extra-dimensionals on the ol' rolodex then finding out what someone has in their dirty laundry would be easier.

Another thing could to focus the class on relations with other dimensions and the things they summon. This would allow a broader aspect to give abilities and increase the classes that would use it.

Also, a plus is lessening the material components of spells. Perfect for when the local mage just can't find his bat guano or used his last 500gp ruby yesterday.
