New race: Muckchink

How about a sub-race of humans: humans, that are more focused than normal humans, thus loosing all human abilities derivated from that very fact (first class counting as favored, and loose the bonus skill points).

In exchange, they would gain a racial +2 bonus on a single stat of the players's choice, and a -2 penalty on a stat of his choice.

Does this feel OK, or should I also knock out the 1st level bonus feat ?

I thought so at first, but then, let's say you want to put your +2 in Con and -2 in Cha...

If you're a dwarf, you have that, plus A LOT more features. It is not THAT powerful to have a balanced adjustment (albeit, of the player's choice).

Or prove me wrong...

As he said, the reason is because the stats are of the player's choice. You wouldn't have to go by the standard possibilities - if those were the stat changes you wanted, you'd probably just be a dwarf in any case. The whole appeal would be the variability.

+2 STR for -2 INT would also represent a fair bit of savings over your other choice for the same change...

Of the 6 stats each character has one they need the highest, that's were the +2 goes, and each has one stat that they don't care about that's where the -2 goes.
