New Race?

Calculus is cool and intersting how dare you insult the great Math gods. :D

That's cool, no rush. It's the chicken or the egg syndrom on which gets developed first, the rules or the flavor. ;)

Race seems balanced to me. They have a very insignificant drawback (I mean, 5% more expensive armor? Even if it were 100% more expensive, it doesn't matter once you get magic armor). The abilty adjustments are slightly skewed towards a benefit, since Con is generally accepted to need a -4 penalty to the mental stats to balance it completely. Plus the natural armor is rockin', as is low light vision. Yeah, these guys are pretty cool, I'd say. I definitely wouldn't characterize it as a weak class. I rather think they're on the powerful side, up there with humans (funny how humans have become one of the most powerful races in D&D). Not unbalanced, but definitely not weak.

Wel I play humans since 2nd Ed.. gotta love em...
They seem ike a good race to me. I would love to see some more flavour and maybe a little drawing (not a good one, just a sketch although I don't know the MB can host images) usually I "buy" a race when I see a drawing I like (descriptions work good for me but I need and "example"). Thanks for sharing :)

Alright, first things first, no drawing. Not from me anyways. My artistic capabilities begin and end with stick figures.

Fula
(Temporary name, but I can't write a discription using only pronouns, it hurts my brain :D )
====================================
Since before people can remember, the Fula have lived in the mountains and foothills in several major regions. They are well known by all as powerful warriors, and even more powerful religious devotees. Many of the more civilized races consider the Fula barbarians. This idea is soon quashed when the civilized race is confronted by an organized, fanatical regiment of Fula zealots (Which are not the norm, but who most readily serve in the military). Still, the Fula are mostly kind, and they make great allies in peace or war.

Discription
---------------
The Fula stand out among the common races. They are larger, and much more heavy boned. Indeed, their bone structure accounts for much of their bulk and power. The defining trait of the Fula is the large spike-like shoulder blade (Alright, since I can't illustrate it I'll try to describe it, although this pobably isn't what i really mean to say: Don't think long pointy spikes that stick out really far. They are more of Pointed protrusions which gradually stick out farther and farther as you near the point, which is centered somewhere a bit near the base of where the shoulder-blade on a human ends in the back. they stick out only about 2-3 inches, which is not that much when compared to the size of the race as a whole). Their skin is ussually a dark tan color but ranges to a dark brick-red in some specimens.

Personality
---------------
(Laziness... taking over....)
Fula are generally dim-witted (Brainless) and lack general knowledge in most cases. They do however have a strong sense of family and friends that is instill upon them through their religion, and they readily take up arms against anyone who threatens either. They may not be bright, but they don't lack in the other catagories, and are generally as easy to get along with as a dumb human.

Religion
------------
What's there to say? They are completely religious, and religion is a top priority in their lives.

Relations
-------------
They get along well with anyone who doesn't try to force their ideas upon them, or who openly welcomes them as friends. They have a hard time with halflings, but nothing that would offset a relationship just because of race. Because of their proximity to dwarves, Fula have learned to deal with and befriend their neighbors.

Language
---------------
Speak their own language (Fulan?) and common. their language uses the dwarven alphabet.

Adventurers
----------------
Fula adventure for any number of reasons. Many go to become better warriors, and thus emulate their god. Others go to find treasure and fame. Still, religion shapes most choices in some way.

Alignment
-------------
Let's say no tendency, though with the religious devotion, they might be lawful. I'm not too good at this part, as you can see. Input please, if you have suggestions.

Names
-----------
Don't know yet, but they would probably reflect the cultures that they interact with most often. That, or names of famous characters in their history and religion.

Okay, that's all I can squeeze out of my feeble little mind right now. Good? Bad? Clarify anything? Tell me.
:D
