New Skill: Training

Training(Int)
The Training skill doesn't work like a standard skill.

For each rank in Training, you may convert one feat to a similar featl, at the DM's discretion (this would include retargeting a feat such as weapon focus to another weapon). For 2 ranks, you can convert any feat you have into any other feat you have the prerequisites for. Note that if you convert a feat, you lose access to other feats that might have it as a prerequisite.
Retry: not applicable.

Training is a class skill for fighters, and a cross-class skill for all other classes.

[Edit] I don't word with fumbles, honest.

Why not just take the correct feat in the first place?

Is this a big problem or concern in your game? From what I've seen, situations where a character wants to change some aspect of their character are better handled with Rule 0 and/or at the DM's discretion. With a little thought and planning you shouldn't ever need to worry about a feat taken at low level becoming useless at higher levels. Besides, Fighter's already get more than enough fets that this shouldn't be a problem.

I've seen a few cases where it's been an issue. I don't think it would be with a good DM, but personally I've never gamed under one, and I came up with this to give them an actual game mechanic to use, instead of just coming up with rules. I had one indecisive DM take 3 sessions to decide if I could change ambidexterity to multidexterity. This is easier, and I was able to justify it by saying, "See, he's training himself to use all his arms."
