New Spam Fraud threat

Another good security habit to get into is to make a habit of opening up a new browser window and typing in the address manually. If there really is a problem, once you log in manually, the legitimate site will tell you so. That way, even if you are accidentally fooled, you have an extra layer of safeguarding to catch you before you fall.

(WARNING: NON-TECHNICAL GUY EXPLAINING SOMETHING TECHNICAL HE ONCE HEARD)

I've heard that a few browsers support multiple codes for the same letter. For instance, an "a" can be formed by code (pulling numbers out of a hat) 29 in standard English, but in Russian codes it's 63.

So some scammers are using different country codes to rewrite the URL. And it'll point to a website that looks like it's legit, since the URL is spelled the same way, but since it's spelled with the wrong country code, it's a different URL.

So yeah, retyping the URL yourself is a good idea. At the least, it'll use your country code for the text.
