New SRD Site for Mutants and Masterminds 3E

Hey gang!

I'm John Reyst, the original creator of d20pfsrd.com, the largest Pathfinder Roleplaying Game SRD (System Reference Document) site.

I've started setting one up for MnM (3E) using the Open Game Content portions of the rules (basically everything.) I want this site to support and promote the Mutants and Masterminds game as d20pfsrd.com does for the Pathfinder game, by getting more people into the system by letting them see the system before they buy.

Anyway, the site can be found at d20herosrd.com. It's not 100% complete yet as the tables still need formatting and a ton of linkage still needs to be added but it's getting there. I'd love to hear any comments pro or con about the site. You can email me at jreyst@gmail.com if you've got any thoughts!

Thanks and good gaming all!

Be careful--power points and hero points are explicitly designated Product Identity, and that may extend to anything that refers to them, which would include the cost structures.

He covered that.
Character Points.
Victory Points.

Which was a bit confusing for me, but I see where he went. Though some of the author's Pathfinder bias shows up in the explanatory text.

Pathfinder bias? I am a Pathfinder fan yes, but to what specifically are you referring to? I don't intend PF to really impact or be involved whatsoever on this site.

love the d20pfsdr I would have a rough time playing pathfinder without it.

The hero sight looks interesting, I hope you finish it soon. The sample characters need the most work, preferably a single page per character.

It is interesting that Pathfinder's APG uses the term 'Hero Points' for their 'Action Points' variant...
could one use this term for the sites 'Victory Points'?

While I'm relatively certain no one company could lay claim to ownership of the term "Hero Points" at least in this context Green Ronin has declared a series of letters which when placed together spells the words "Hero Points" as not open game content in the context of the Mutants and Masterminds game system. With that said, I'm also relatively sure that one could probably still use that string of letters, however, I'd rather be safe than sorry, thus the phrase "Hero Points" is replaced with "Victory Points" on the website.

I think there is one other OGL game that "needs" to be one of your SRD pages:

Legend - Mongoose

---

BTW, I would have preferred Fate (like in BESM d20) or Karna Points as a name for your Victory Points. I think the names are closer to what you expect from using them.

I noticed that one too. I just purchased it today. I'm going to give it a look to see how much would be involved. To be honest I'm really hoping I like the system since I'd like to try something different now and then.

Huh. While they've said it's 100% Open Game Content it doesn't appear to be quite 100%:

So, while they're more than free to do what they've done, without investigating further, it might be fairly involved trying to filter out the stuff that's not OGC. I'll dig into it a bit to see but right now with Pathfinder_OGC, d20herosrd, another web project I'm still working on but not ready to reveal, 4-6 books me and a partner have in the queue to possibly try to sell... real life, work... I dunno I'll see how it goes lol
