New "Stargate" series announced

I'm glad its not a reboot, but one thing I am worried is how "OP" Earth was by the end of the first series.

Effectively SG is a big dnd adventure, the group starts out at 1st level, and by the end its a full 20th level series....teleports, super space ships, advanced weapons.

The question of course is....where do you go from there?

Precursor race or ninja Goa'ald. Wraith with ancient tech, Michael returns. Goa'ald in a Wraith etc. A smarter species or antagonist.

And... I've just been told about an animated Stargate series that I never knew existed, "Stargate: Infinity." Seeing the opening credits doesn't exactly make me sad that I missed it.

The "friendly to both fans and new viewers" thing is going to be an interesting balance. By the time it stopped airing there had been a lot of technical advances and international agreements to the point where it hardly seemed feasible for everything not to go fully public and those technologies spread worldwide. Catching people up with that could be tricky.

Then again, that could be an interesting hook. Having the whole Stargate project go public even as they're facing some major new interstellar threat or challenge could be a compelling storyline.

But they're also responsible for Bosch, The Boys, Reacher, Fallout, The Man in the High Castle, many of whom I enjoyed. And they also continued the Expanse (4-6).
True but the Expanse went downhill fast once prime took over. What they did to the final season was criminal.
