Dungeon crawls are all about occasional unfairness, if you ask me =) Some of our group's most memorable AHQ moments involved the party fleeing from the dungeon, getting picked off one by one, until one or two lucky ones managed to scramble out alive...

I'd have to agree with you. One of my favorite (albiet light) dungeon crawl games is DungeonQuest. Man is that game brutal, but fun!

I took a stab at converting D&D skills (used in DB quite cleverly in places I must say) to DDM special abilities or other aspects of the stat cards. It's pretty late so I could be way off on some. :) Some I have no idea... Skills could just be ignored I guess to speed things up or just the commander rating could be used. I kinda like the idea of having bonuses. I figured having the skill would give a +4 bonus to checks in that skill.

Appraise -> Type Dwarf
Balance -> Dodge, Uncanny Dodge, Sidestep
Bluff -> Countersong, Improved Countersong
Climb -> Burrow, Incorpreal, Type Halfling, Name Barbarian
Concentration -> Selective Shot, Precise Shot, Resist, Construct, Living Construct
