New Unearthed Arcana info

Well, Andy Collins has stated that Unearthed Arcana will have enough variant rules that a DM could use one in each campaign he runs, and probably never run out of things to use.

I'm interested in the class-based AC bonuses, the spell point system and the new metamagic system, primarily.

Well, I think this has potential to be good. We'll see if WoTC can pull it off. Most of their stuff does not excite me anymore.

Nightfall, for someone that claims to be uninterested in this product, you've got more posts in this thread than anyone else. Dude, settle down. You keep hijacking this thread (or at least attempting to do so) over and over again.

I have a bad feeling that this book and AU are going to constantly keep getting confused. Especially for the dyslexics of the world. :)

At any rate, things I'd like to see in here (or look forward to):
Ranger/Paladin/(Bard?!) as PrC.
spell point system
I'd like to see a new cavalier PrC or class.
Obligatory new spells, feats, items, and everything else. I can never really get enough crunchy bits, especially when they're done well.

I betcha it's in the Warrior's Handbook.

You could very well be right. It would be kinda neat if they had the Thief-Acrobat and the Cavalier PrCs for 3.5 in UA, if just as a nod to the old days. But they probably wouldn't fit the theme so well.

Klugie, I'm just trying to up my post count. ;)

I am the person who asked Andy those questions and about the damage save. Andy's reply to me about the damage save was that it is too early to say if it was or wasn't. So, I am still hoping it is

Someone asked that on Andy's Board...and Andy said it ISN'T the one from M&M...no idea what it is, though.

As for OGC...I really hope it is. I would EXPECT it to be...but nothing's been said about that so far...

As far as bard, I'd like to see a bard PrC that goes back to the first edition one with that real Celtic feel to it so the druid isn't alone in the world. :D

Nah. I want a druid as PrC that actually feels like a Celtic Druid.

I'm trying to catch up with ya Nightfall, but I think that will never happen. ;)

I like AU for what it does, and from the sounds of it I will really like UA also. I like variants, especially for D&D cuz I really dislike D&D and anything to help make it better works for me.

Class based AC increase? Good.
Alternate PrC of Core Classes? Good.
Alternate Hit Point systems? Very very good.
Alternate Spellcasting systems? It's about time they got off their lazy butts and did this. Very very awesome.
Alternate Core Classes? Good.

Everything I have read about this book is stuff I wish was in the core books to begin with, and should have been in the DMG also. Next Feb I will buy this book (which will be the same time I buy the 3.5 books also).

Wow. All that from jasamcarl?

I just got my monthly dose of irony all in one sitting...

To the topic at hand:
I'll be curious to see more info about UA as the info slowly comes in. There might be some variant rule gems in that book.
