New use for the D12

In the campaigns I play in or DM, we use the d12 if we need a random direction. We say wich way 12 o'clcok is and roll.

Now, that is a good idea. I like it much better than the d8-for-cardinal-and-secondary-directions, as there are more than 8 directions in the world. More than 12, too, but 12 is closer.

Another use of the d12 is for giving out the time of day...first choose whether it is morning or night then roll the hour for a more correct time. Ex: Choosing morning and rolling d12 with a result of 8 means it is 8:00 am while rolling 12 means it is 12:00 am (midnight). Thats what I use it for.

The d30 isn't even used at all. What are some uses for it?

What day of the month the adventure started (after some down time). Could make a difference for those who use the b*tch rule for roleplaying female characters.

Here's a good use for the D12 and the D30; arbitrary dates. D12 designates the month, D30 the approximate time of month. Now if only there was a D24...
