I like 3.0's treatment. Pathfinder is a little too relaxed in my opinion on it. But I'm flexible. For the next edition, if they want to go back to just being able to do backstab or keep it at how 4e does, I'm fine with it.

I like the thief and how it had both Sneak attack and backstab.
