D&D General Psychic Sneak Attack?

So a question came up in our 2024 game tonight and we weren't sure of the correct answer and we couldn't find it anywhere obvious in the new PHB.

The party Rogue just took SoulKnife as his subclass, so he generates psychic blades that deal psychic damage. Does the sneak attack damage become psychic or is it just blank damage?

Edit: I'll point out for clarity that this is my first 5th edition campaign ever so still learning things.

The extra damage from Sneak Attack is the same type of damage as the weapon used to make the attack. Psychic Blade damage type is Psychic, and they are Finesse weapons so eligible to perform Sneak Attacks. So yeah, the Sneak Attack damage type should be Psychic

I had always assumed that the damage type for the sneak attack would be the same type as the weapon used.

I know the updated 2024 Rogue states that the above is the case, but the 2014 version doesn't state it out right.
