Half way through the rules book and I have looked into most of the links here. Somewhere I had seen a program to create characters. Does this program automatically track / update linked numbers? If so, it would help a great deal.

Hero Lab is one program that does it. However, the demo doesn't allow you to save or print, cause you know, LoneWolf Development wants you to buy the full version, and saving and printing is the most important features of such a product.

However, I'm not sure about the spreadsheet automatically tracks numbers.

I know the Excel spreadsheet track numbers, but it has some limitations. E.g., it will recognize the "Force Field" power but if you have two different Force Field powers as Alternate Powers of each other (e.g., one that's Impervious but affects only you and another that has Affects Others but isn't Impervious), then it detects the power twice adds too much to your Toughness save.

As mentioned, besides the free spreadsheets linked in my above post, Hero Lab ($30 for the base product, $20 more for an expansion that includes material from several books besides the core book) is probably the best option.
