I've never read them, so I can't comment. Interesting that these books are the only thing the guy has ever written, and he apparently wasn't a writer until he sat down to write them. As an aspiring writer, I'm not sure if I find that encouraging or depressing.

I hope this is on a cable channel, what with all the rapes and such they will have to film. Really, I can think of some much better fantasy books to make into a tv series. This series is utter dreck!

It was good for as long as I read it. People seem to really pay much more attention to those R rated scenes then I certainly did.

I imagine since they said it is a "syndicated program" they will try to get onto channels like ABC, CBS, etc. So probably will be majorly turned down in extremeity.

But, you got Song of Fire and Ice to look forward to on HBO.

Currently being made by Disney. Might end up on ABC - might not.

I'm guessing the whole Dominatrix angle is about to be not in the series though

As for Song of Ice and Fire on HBO - that has not yet been green lit.
There is, regrettably, every good reason to think SoIaF may never be made.

But we can hope.

This is one of the better fantasy series I've read, but I enjoyed it for what it is... a dark fantasy intended for adults and not the kiddies.

Not as good as Wheel of Time or A Song of Fire and Ice or Mistborn, but the series wasn't bad either.
