...White Wolf sold out of Necropolis and nearly everything else. Many exhibitors looked to be having similar experiences. Exhibitors stated that sales were good and attendance was rocking. Expectations amongst exhibitors and others we talked to are that the attendance was much better than last year. It will be curious to hear how the numbers turn out.

The ENnies sound like they went well. A few surprise around the winners and Ryan Dancey received a special, much deserved, award from Peter Adkison. We are putting together a complete listing of winners now. In talking with a variety of D20 companies it sounds like there are a lot of “big” projects on the horizon, both Paradigm Concepts and Mystic Eye to name a few. No firm details just yet.

...
We did catch a very interesting rumor here at the show concerning PCGen and Wizards of the Coast. We were told by multiple sources that PCGen was served notice to discontinue distribution and updates to their D20 character creation software. We asked a few Wizards of the Coast officials about the rumor but got no comment. We were unable to find the PCGen folks for confirmation. We will attempt to determine if this is true or not tonight at the Safe House. We need to reiterate that this was an unconfirmed rumor we got from several sources. As soon as we know more we’ll let you know.

Best of all, from one of my sources R&R2 ROCKS! It's not quite the same as the first, but it has some great stuff apparently.

Btw for those SL fans out there wondering, the Jordeth are now a Pr-class. Course I'm more interested in the Twisted and new Servants of Mormo.

In another thread, Morrus confirmed that this was true. They also have done it to two other software developers.

This message went across the PCGen mailing list:

Keeping this short and sweet... as I just got in from the Con and just caught up on all the messages (275!).

1) Did we get an official C&D order? No.
2) Did we talk with a WotC representative about PCGen and OGL compliancy? Yes
3) Are we shutting down/being forced to shut down? No.
3a)Could we be? Yes. But that holds true for every other CharGen program that is fan based.
4) Are we working with WotC to address their issues/concerns? Yes. Unqualified yes. We've been trying to get dialog with them (WotC) for 18 months now, we have it, we're going to do everything we can to make it 100% positive for them and us.

Having said that, relax and wait a couple of days for the full blown announcement of what is going on please. A LOT of things happened at GenCon this weekend and EVERY ONE of them was positive in some way, if inconvienant atm.

Now that we have official dialog opened up with WotC, we are getting the information we need to make everyone happy. As usual, it's all a matter of time.

Well it's a bump. The RPGnow.com folks are back and they've expanded the titles featured on the main page. Just shows that the PDF market is really exploding.

Check out some of the products out at

I only see 2 titles there that weren't there last week. What gives?

They usually have 6 titles or something and now they have like... 12!

Like I said, it's a s-l-o-w newsday. ;)

It was either that or reporting how 4CT Fantasy has moved up (gasp) 1 spot to #14 on the Rpgnow.com list.
