Just made me laugh, too. :D Thanks, "Chargene." :)

One important point: People are going to try and take him to task on it, but personally I love Scott Rouse's example set of publically stating "I can't disclose that because of confidentiality concerns." rather than beating around the bush about certain questions. I've seen some hemming and hawing where some people try to answer questions by answering a different question, but all it does is create the impression of deceit to some people. Rather, I like it when somebody straight talks me and tells me up front, "I can't say because of THIS reason."

I agree. I think the answers we got form the Q&A Morrus put together made a lot of people more angry because of all the vague non-answers mixed into the pot. I believe they realized that wasn't going to cut it and are being as straightforward and honest as they can be, and I for one appreciate that.

Thanks for pulling that together Merric! I also appreciate the fact that they are being honest as to why they aren't going to tell us anything. I don't have to like it, but I do understand why. It does make me question the reason behind asking for input from their customers (since they can't talk about things) ... other than making us think we are involved in the development of the product.

So I guess for the next 5 months (assuming they'll tell us something in September) we'll just continue to dangle at the end of the rope ... throwing out idea's, concerns and the occasional barb to see who still cares and wants to talk about where we're being lead.

I'm having some trouble parsing the information. Am I missing anything specifically from WotC employees that is new and definite in this "News on the Digital Initiative?" Even if not, I think it is great that they are getting out on the message boards and discussing things with other gamers.

Honestly, the news I've seen about the DI makes me really look forward to it.

Being an Australian subscriber to Dragon magazine... sucked. I got my issues even after the newstands got their issues. Often a month later. I got to see everyone on the boards discuss new issues for 2-3 months before my issue arrived.

And it cost me double what the U.S. subscribers had to pay.

No: for the globalisation of D&D, the DI will be much, much better.

Cheers!

I can see where electronic content will be superior for players outside NA from a question of timliness ... but where is the news that makes you optimistic about the DI? No joke, I'm really trying to find some solid news to get excited about.

Aside from a commitment to use freelancers, a plan to continue printing books, and a commitment to try to find a printer-friendly version of content ... there's nothing in the "new" information that improves on the lack of information we already have.
