I may just take some other monster, slap a fiendish template on it and change its appearance. For instance, a cloud giant's stats with a human-sized appearance that slowly mutates from person to person, like a dream person changes, and whose very presence makes you sleepy and makes your mind wander. Fast and easy -- what it lacks in purity and verisimillitude it makes up for in convenience. My real goal is to present a creature that the players can't identify in metagame.
