Ninja

But the reason I wanted to base the Ninja off of a Fighter was for the best possible BAB and the feats, especially for shurikens. He can throw 9 shurikens per round at four damage a piece. A Monk/Rogue combo would have a BAB 2 less than the fighter and would have a maximum of 4 feats, once Exotic Weapon Proficiency is taken that makes only three. Without quick draw a ninja can't throw more than three shurikens per round because he would have to keep pulling out new ones as a standard action. Then you're down to two feats.

The only thing I realy need to make this character effective is a way to get him close without being spotted. I like the idea of a lantern with a stone inside that emanates darkness if only there was a way for me to see through the darkness...

Otherwise if no one else has any ideas I might just buy a few "dusts of disapearance".

How do you get 4 damage apiece? Point Blank Shot and Specialization only apply to the first shuriken of each volley, the other two only do a single point.

(Point Blank Shot and Specialization are "precision based damage" and only the first shuriken in each volley is accurate enough to take advantage of the damage modifiers, according to the FAQ.)

You might not like the class, but here's what I did.

Fighter 5/Rogue 2/Ninja of the Crescent Moon [whatever].

I forget what level, but pretty early on you get the ability to turn invisible (as the spell, caster level = NotCM level) as many times per day as you have NotCM levels. This gets...rediculous at later levels. Being able to turn invisible eight times a day, for a duration of 80 minutes each seems to be the sort of thing you're looking for.

I'd reccomend the Ninja of the Crescent Moon class.

Oh yeah - Dexterity is your best friend in the world. I actually wrote a little thing for myself about the use of this class. Download it if you wish.

A Fighter4/Rogue4 would make a pretty decent Ninja. Those four levels of Fighter give you three bonus feats, and if you're human with a high Int your Rogue levels will let you keep a lot of skills high.

Human
Str 13
Dex 15
Con 12
Int 14
Wis 10
Cha 8

Rog1 - Hide, Move Silent, Spot, Listen, Tumble, Escape Artist, Balance, Bluff, Climb + any other two - all +4
Fgt1 - Max out Jump to +5
Fgt2 - Jump +6, Climb +6, Hide +5
Rog2 - Hide, Move Silent, Tumble, Bluff - all +7
Rog3- Hide, Move Silent, Tumble, Bluff - all +8; Spot & Listen +6; Balance +7
Fgt3 - Jump +9, Climb +8
Fgt4 - Jump +10, Cimb +10, Hide +9
Rog4 - Hide, Move Silent, Tumble, Bluff - all +11

To "Hide in Plain Sight", use your Bluff skill to make a distraction.

I say either Monk/Rogue, Rogue/Psion or Monk/PsiWar. (Clearly, I think Ninjas are very Monk-ish.)

Note the Psychic Warrior's skill list is surprisingly good: Autohypnosis (Wis), Balance (Dex), Climb (Str), Concentration (Con), Jump (Str), Stabilize Self (Str), Swim (Str), Tumble (Dex), and Use Psionic Device (Cha).

Note also that a Psion (Savant), whose main ability is Con, also has a surprisingly good skill list: Autohypnosis (Wis), Concentration (Con), Disable Device (Int), Knowledge (psionics) (Int), Open Lock (Dex), Pick Pocket (Dex), Psicraft (Int), Remote View (Int), and Search (Int).

Monk/Rogue build is pretty simple -- one level of Rogue to start, to max out the number of skill points you get. I'd suggest going mostly Monk, but 5 levels of Rogue is a sweet deal. Obviously, you're going to be aiming for a high Dex, Wis and Int.

PsiWar/Monk (or PsiWar/Rogue) is another good choice. PsiWars get bonus Psionic Feats, which are quite impressive. Psi-oriented Rogues (Psion or PsiWar) have an advantage over arcane spellcasters in that armor does not inhibit their powers -- throw on a MW Chain Shirt and kick butt. On the Monk side, though, you get Feats like Inertial Armor (permanent Mage Armor effect), Speed of Thought (+10 ft. movement) and Up The Walls (ability to run up vertical surfaces -- cool and Matrix-like).

Psions don't get bonus Feats, but they do get better powers. A Monk/Psion isn't as exciting IMHO as a Rogue/Psion, since the dearth of Feats makes losing high-level Monk powers much less attractive. A Psion/Rogue can wear light armor, fight with a decent array of weaponry, and augment himself with a variety of powers.

Consider taking Psionic Prestige classes, too. A Rogue2/Savant5/Soul Knife1 is a very cool character, who gets significantly cooler as her Soul Knife level goes up.

nothing is gonna be perfect...you are gonna have to give something up to get what you want.........if you want a powerfull prestige class you have to meet sometimes sucky pre reqs... that is part of what balances them out..

try to stick to the feel of the character rather than trying to powergame him and it will be easier to be happy with your choice.....IMO
