Niobe's Dilemma (Manzanita Judging)

(OOC: Actually, until we got the firsthand account that she had been beaten, bloodied, and knocked out, I was strongly considering the possibility that maybe she just decided to run away with a beau  )

The priest takes you aside into a private room and takes the proper donation (Standard price, I can't look it up easily at the moment), and chants a prayer as he asks Zephos for guidence.

"Zephos, Where must these gentilemen go to rescue Niobe?"

A deep voice calls out from all around, yet from no where. "The one you seek is near, guarded by one one of you knows well. Her soul is not yet mine to take."

The priest bows in reverence "Oh thank you or Zephos, guider of souls. May these fellows show themselves worthy of your insight."

He rises again. "Well, I hope that helps you. The loss of Niobe will be a travesty for Earling. Again, I thank you for your donation."

"No, Carsis does not carry a sword, and I found the imprint of one on the ground. I think I know who it is," Troi says. "Besides, more than one of us knows Carsis."

OOC: BTW, thank you for giving me the excuse to use this NPC stuff :)

"That is true, and it is well that it is so. In fact, I have dishonoured Carsis for thinking such of him. Well, it can't be Zaeryl, so it must be whoever you think it is."

(OOC: Dude, if the answer is like that NPC Shivv guy from Troi's background, we totally couldn't possibly get that without Troi telling us  )

"I still don't know why he would do this... there's more to it most likely, but no matter, at least I know who to look for, and we have an idea of where to look," Troi says.

OOC: Yeah, and there were some clues for him back when he was posting more regularly.. wasn't sure if he had thought of the posibility or not, but I couldn't in good consious just give that to you. Well, till now.

(OOC: Yeah--this was basically impossible without Gnomeworks though--I might have given something extra just because of that to help stop derailing :()

"Actually, sadly, the Divination told us who has her without telling us at all where she is, really. This is unfortunate. I had originally planned on asking who held her and then realised it would be a worthless answer. However, it looks like our friend the emotional parasite decided to answer that one anyway. We don't really have more to go on now unless you know this fellow well enough to predict where he will be."

Wil offers his respects to the priesthood of Zephos as they leave the temple. Once outside, he checks his armaments casually.

"You know where to find our quarry? Then what are we waiting for?"

OOG: The sack given us has 200gp. The casting of the spell was 280gp. Wil pays for 40 out of the remaining 80 unless Lasair has no gp to spend.

(OOC: Actually, I'd rather make the other two pay 140 each in recompense for disappearing on us  Alternatively, I'd also be good with having Lasair and Wil pay but having the other two not share in the reward at the end--I typically drop missing PCs to prevent that problem, but I'm afraid if Bront does that we may die)
