D&D (2024) No Appendix N Equivalent?

If you're looking for a list of inspirational fantasy, just check the 'What are you reading' yearly threads here on Enworld.
It's put my on to some cool stuff.
Is this list published with the D&D DMG such that anyone who picks up the latter will get a copy of the former for their perusal and evaluation?

Could be. Sure. Would actually be? Bit different there
I've used all of them, plus Treasure Island, the Voyages of Doctor Dolittle, James Bond, Indiana Jones, Tailspin, Se7en, Scream, Agatha Christie, the Godfather and dozens of other things. The last thing the DMG should be doing is trying to limit player's imagination by telling them what is and is not suitable for D&D.

I just don't get how a inspirational reading list limits your imagination. If it inspires you to read an author you haven't before, how is it limiting?

Because people who play D&D are massively literal. If it’s not on the list it ain’t D&D. As already stated, it’s just people looking for reassurance that the stuff they like is the RIGHT kind of inspiration.
