No Boys Allowed!

I don't know about the sexist thing. The whole idea sounds kick ass just because I've never heard anything like it. Most women I've ever had in one of my games was four. There was only one other guy, and we all had a blast.

Sometimes it seems like girls get the idea that this is all a game more so than guys do. That is what we're here for, right? ;)

The conversation has turned to "branching off" our regular group for our own, girls-only game.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall at those sessions...

(with a webcam of course! :p )

My vote for a story hour. Sounds interesting.

I've gamed with only a couple of women so far. The only real difference I noticed in these games was that some players were women and some players were men.

Do I know you? That seems to be half my characters..... ready to kill stuff. Not to mention, liking to use "Colorful Metaphors" [/Spock] on a semi-regular basis, depending on the character.

Heh...not unless you attended Lyon College in Arkansas. That's where this group was based.

My wife (who no longer plays) was part of a group that ran over 10 years. There was one other woman who played that entire run (a third, the DM of the all girl group, played for awhile before moving away). She and the other woman were the hands down best roleplayers I've ever seen, and were often the tactical leaders in the group, coming up with the most "sensical" plans that kept the party alive rather than exercises in suicide runs. After that group broke up and people moved away, she decided she didn't want to play anymore, which is a great loss. The group I'm in now could sometimes use her perspectives.

SHHHHHHHHH! One of the guys in our primary group already wants to web cam our regular game sessions. Now I'm going to have to sweep the house for bugs!

Although I am a guy, I DM'd an all-girls group. My impression of the differences here. Took more time to get to the gaming as people showed up and had to share news. When they got gaming, they role-played well together and got a lot accomplished. Might be slightly hack-and-slashish, but not so pronounced that I would say it had to do with them being women. They seemed a LOT less likely to want to hog the DMs time or make the game all about themselves. Lastly, I have never DM'd any other group where four players brought babies/toddlers to the game. Since my wife was one of those, I guess count the DM, also.

I tried to get one girlfriend into gaming about 10 years ago, but she wound up not digging it too much....

I've been lucky so far: three for three with every girlfriend I've asked to play.

Of course, that's probably owing more to my stunning good looks and irrestible charm.

I was sweatin' it out there for a minute.

Glad to know I am not alone!

Easy on the broom, eh?

I got my sister into D&D when she was a kid, and she got her whole group of high school friends hooked. More than once I wandered by to hear the yelling, cursing, and flowery, "The head rolls off in a spurt of blood" "I hack at it again!!"

Fun stuff. 6 girls, all around 17, going to town on murder and mayhem.
