Well, we've got Ravenloft sorta filling that role.

The announced FR book is focused on Neverwinter. Current theory is that we'll be seeing a 4E Neverwinter Nights game of some sort, and this is aimed at tying into that or at least drawing in the crowd that has enjoyed the Neverwinter Nights games previously. So I doubt it will be a general change in philosophy, just one aimed at drawing in a pretty obvious target audience.

Yeah it's kind of strange after going through the news- More Realms and something about Ravenloft. Between that, Essentials, and Gamma World as a kind of side project, it seems like the solid focus of 2008-2009-early 2010 is a lot more scattered now with books in different sizes and formats, boxed games, and boardgames showing up all over the place.

Ahh I missed the Ravenloft announcement - ohh so many shiny new things...

I like that they are mixing up the product releases. It beats the annual core updates and power books.
