No more dumb fighters?

To be honest, having the average intelligence of an inhabitant of a medieval society really does qualify you as a bit of an idiot, to my way of mind anyway.

Yeah ... he just blows up the wall instead of the kobolds. Every time. Until such time as his party ditches him, or the kobolds finally stick him through the ribs :p

Intelligence measures how well your character learns and reasons.

Wisdom measures your common sense, perception, self-discipline, and empathy.

The "dumb" fighter that makes brash, blundering mistakes and often puts his "foot in his mouth" is probably more a case of low wisdom than low intelligence.

Yes though without rolling your stats the best you can hope for is an average stat, then again if 50% of the people I meet are of average intelligence then average can do some pretty dumb things.

:ranged: Magic Missile (standard; at-will)
Range 20; -4 vs. Reflex; 2d4-4 damage.

Wizards with 3 Int will be exactly as useful, fun to play, and popular as fighters with 3 Str were in 3.x.

Simulationist oriented DM/Players are the one who favor "good roleplaying".

Narrativism is about player's thematic choices.

And this is the problem with arbitrary terms. Folks who prefer rules light systems which focus on role-playing are by definition not simulationists.

The world is not made of boxes.

No. No. No.

Again.

Narrativism does favour good "role-playing", which in this post I assmue is being used to mean "acting in character", it just places the motivation for character choice in another area.

Of course, the whole GNS system is almost useless, but we could at least point out its actual flaws and characteristics.

I say death to the idiot fighter!

This archetype should be a supporting character (read: NPC), and not one of the protagonists!

Groo does not know what that means but he knows he does not like it! Groo will do what Groo does best!

:D
