Seconded, or maybe thirded! I don't have a complicated, rational reason for disliking the class. Just don't like it.

Why the heck is the Artificer still in this thing?!

Hate psionics or asia because it's "not fantasy"? What about supporting things like airships, trains, and printing presses?

Hate something for mechanics? How about a class that re-writes the hazy rules on item creation, and whose major contribution in a party is to heal an unbalanced race?

Obviously, there are MANY reasons for the Artificer to get the heck out of dodge. VOTE FOR IT!

I dunno if anybody remembers, but back before the Crash I did a poll about "Whats your favorite Non-core base class?" and the landslide winners: Scout and Warlock, almost tied with the next favorite behind by around 30 votes.

I like the Psion, but it has mindless hatred of Psionics against it so it will never survive. It would lose if you put it up against a class that had no abilities because of this.

If I ignore Psionics, I think the remaining classes that best combine 'cool', 'balanced', and 'interesting' are Warlock, Beguiler, and Archivist.

If I (for some unlikely reason) had to use only 3 Non-PHB classes, it would be Warlock, Psion (or Wilder - most underrated psionic class ), and Archivist. I'm not all that well informed on the PHB II classes.
