Bah, we all know already, that the Warlock is going to win. ;)

As much as I like the Warlock, the Dread Necromancer also seems pretty cool. Not sure which I like better -- probably the Warlock.

Remember that these survivor games aren't about who is liked the best, but who is disliked the least. There is a difference.

You could have a class that 2/3 of the people rate the best class. However, if they all dislike other classes, and everyone else votes for that class, it'll go first round.

That's why I think the oriental classes didn't really have a chance. There are some very good classes in that bunch, but there is a group of people that will vote them off just because they are written to be oriental and don't want that in their fantasy.

Which is unfortunate. I pretty strongly dislike oriental fantasy, but I can't say that I'd go gunning for it, either. More likely, I'd just use it as a final tie-breaker for a difficult decision. I know that, as a psi-fan, I'm getting annoyed at the people who are systematically gunning for psi classes because I'd actually like to see which of them legitimately went first and last.

My vote this time: Favored Soul. I just don't like how it's put together, especially the wings. I won't be sad, though, to see the Spirit Shaman or Lurk go.

As far as the divine classes not getting loving, I don't think that is really because people don't like alt.divine classes. I think it's because the divine classes that have been presented are all poorly designed. IMO, Complete Divine was the worst of the Complete series. I'm not sure I'm even using as much from CD as from CPsi, the latter being bad enough to almost be an insult to psi-fans.

Well it looks like the Spirit Shaman is on the way out. That's too bad, because now that I've played one I find that it really shines.

The class gets some great abilities against spirits, and the book defines them well enough so that you will encounter them often enough to make the class worthwhile. Some of it's higher level abilities like the ability to bring someone back from the dead without XP loss in the middle of combat are excellent.

And going incorporeal to run through walls or take cover in the floor is just fun!.

After all the hate for the favored soul in the comments, how is it doing so well in this poll?

Round 6 already? I must have missed a few rounds in there. Oh, well. I don't have to change my vote just yet, since the Artificer isn't dead.

The Lurk and the Spirit Shaman are taking a walk. On to the next round!

My prediction for the final three: Beguiler, Duskblade & Warlock. I'll also predict that at least on of those will take a suprising turn before we get there.
