Thanks for the kind words everyone.

The Magic Box has been approved by FOX and is off the the printers. As a teaser and to keep your interest peaked about the newest Buffy RPG book, we have supplied you with a preview of Amy Madsion and the Young Mystic. Enjoy and sorry for the delay.

Hi George - thanks again for producing such a great-looking game, and thanks for brightening up GenCon UK - I caught the end of your discussion on the Sunday night, definitely one of the highlights.

I bought the Buffy core book and the Slayer's Guide at GenconUK, currently I'm contemplating getting the Monster Smackdown - will probably wait until I can see if there's interest in running a game.

I've been thinking about getting AFMBE also, I was a bit deterred though by the AFMBE scenario I played in GenconUK 2002 - it was appropriately traumatising, but the Unisystem's recording of damage as abstract hit points a la D&D, while fine for Buffy, didn't seem quite right for a game about getting eaten alive by zombies - I was expecting something much more graphic and visceral - hit locations, wound levels, rules for abilities degrading due to injury, having bits chewed off, that kind of thing...

Anyone looking to get this game really needs to look around this site. It should answer all your questions. I think this is the best on line example of a print game I've ever seen. I'm impressed!!

Thanks very much :)

We are exptremely happy with the results of the Buffy RPG.

We hope to continue to produce books fro both Buffy and Angel for as long as we can.

The decision the use the Unisystem as the core game system for AFMBE was due to its flexability.

We experimented with trying to create a new system for AFMBE but in the end using the Unisystem proved more viable from both a play and buisness sence.

I have seen people discuss adding more detail to their games on our discussion boards in the past, while others using the newer Buffy Unisystem for AFMBE.

I played Witchcraft when it came out and it was a blast. My group used cards instead of dice and it worked really well...adds even more to the heroic side of RPGs. I got the BtVS game for Xmas and it's so sweet... and all I've done is read it over & over. The whole thing is put together so nice. My favorite parts are the quotes and the directory for Buffyspeak (now I know what "5 X 5" is. ;) ) If there are people on these boards that want to branch out with BtVS pbem games, let me know cause I am so there.

Heh - wait until you see Dark Willow's character sheet ;)

Bored now...

No, seriously, I'm bored. I want the book now. Alyson Hannigan rocks, and you've got a fairly prominent pic of Amber as Tara there too...

I think the Unisystem works fine as the core system for AFMBE, but I found it a bit odd when the zombies were chewing on my Anglican priest PC to be just crossing off hit points like it was a D&D game, and dying when they reached 0*. I'd think a more detailed damage system would fit better the survival horror genre - maybe that's just how I visualise it, though. Computer games don't have hit locations, so I suppose it models Resident Evil & Doom combat fine.

*Although I was killed by one of the other PCs trying to get the zombies off me with a baseball bat - a bad miss did for me. Guess I struck out. :)

I haven't gotten a chance to play AFMBE or any other non-Unisystem-Lite game, so I don't know how much more dice rolling there is, but I really like how Unisystem Lite in the Buffy RPG keeps rolling to a minimum, making the action fast and loose.

Detailed hit locations and specific damage tends to slow down the cinematic feel I like in my modern-style games.

I just don't find 'you take 10 damage' very horrific - "you take a severe wound to your right arm, crippling your hand..." would seem better for a physical horror game like AFMBE.
