Non-epic Worm That Walks

First Post
I like the Worm That Walks monster presented in the ELH and I want to use one, but he's far too powerful for my current party. As such, I've decided to scale him down, and I wanted some advice/criticism. Rather than retype the whole template, I've listed the changes I've made here.

(For those of you who haven't seen it, a Worm That Walks is a dead spellcaster whose mind resides in the vermin who consumed his corpse.)

AC: +6 insight bonus, rather than +20.

Engulf Special Attack: 3d6 or 4d6 damage, rather than 100 points, otherwise the same.

Spell-Like Abilities: As the epic version, but does not get animal shapes, colossal vermin, summon vermin, or creeping doom. Caster Level 10th, rather than 20th.

Blindsight: 30', rather than 300'.

Spell Resistance: Not sure what to do with this, I feel it may be too strong as is. Maybe lower it or ditch it all together?

Skills: +10 racial bonus to the listed skills, rather than +20.

CR: ???

I plan on placing this template on a 7th level wizard; would he provide a decent challenge for 3 7th-level characters? Would he wipe the floor with the PCs?
