Non-Weapon Weapons?

My oldest son ran a 2E mage/thief who used a mop of flying not only as a means of transportation, but also as a weapon. It was kind of like a quarterstaff, although the mop-head end could be slapped into the face of an enemy to temporarily blind him.

The same campaign once had an enemy at the top of a vertical shaft, throwing down animals from his box of tricks at the PCs who were chasing him. The mop-wielder actually took 8 points of falling goat damage.

And our current campaign had an enlarged half-orc barbarian wield an enemy human tribesman as a club against his fellow tribesmen; the half-orc had previously used this trick using a goblin as a makeshift club against other goblins.

A broom handle, a handful of bed springs, a rusty orcish helm, a flask of greek fire, and an ill-tempered sheep. (All at once.)

In my defense, I was playing a tinker gnome at the time.

Again from WFRP
  • Barstool during a tavern fight
  • Small but Vicious Dog attack (I don't think that counts as a SVD is a weapon)
  • A noble (player character) dragged a thug from behind his horse for a bit
  • Thrown from a speeding stage coach

In owod Vampire I staked a vampire with aa potted plant

I also in the same game saw a PC kill a werewolf with a rolled up newspaper and bottle... (silver nitrate in both)

I once had a character kill an orc with a bucket. What about you?

While playing "Dieter" in one of Trevalon's infamous Chicago Gameday Feng Shui games, I ran down the BBEG with a pimped-up forklift. If I remember right, I had to back up a few times before he'd stay down.

:p

Well my viking type barbarian (in WHFRPG) was once attacked in the privy by snotlings and beat them to death with one of them. I had a Palladium warlock who regularly used inviisble wall on really fast moving vampires.
A friend playing a psionic character once beat up an undead giant with a 3 ton altar, we needed a holy weapon, it was the nearest thing to hand.

Don't think I have killed with an unusual weapon in D&D though my favourite was in Space 1899 where we wiped out a whole bunch of Lunar insect type beings (armed with a pair of Winchester repeaters each) with 6 sticks of dynamite and 30 pounds of diamonds.

While we were setting up an AD&D Complete Book of Humanoids campaign, a friend and I came up with an interesting tactic called the Firbolg Bomb.

I was playing a Firbolg (named Fezzic after Andre the Giant in the Princess Bride:o) and my friend was playing a pixie. Basically the Firbolg would shrink down to his minimum size using his Diminution ability, then the Pixie would pick him up and fly over an opponent. The Pixie would then drop the Firbolg who would enlarge back to normal size during the fall. The opponent would then be hit by 800 lbs of falling Firbolg. The Firbolg would take some damage also, but he was pretty tough. It was one of those cases of "this is going to hurt you more than it hurts me"!
