Hmm. The GD site won't let me log in any more. Has this happened to others? If it passes I'll report back.

At any rate, it appears that Exemplar isn't getting any love. Spaceships. Dogifights. Kung Fu. Psychic powers. Cosmic wormholes. Come on people, what's not to like? Learn a new system and bring down a totalitarian world-spanning individuality-sapping government-religon-thing of doom!

And to whet your appetites, I present the
rules AND this brand new story hour!

Trade D&D Minis?

I haven't been reading this thread because I wasn't going to be able to make it on May 8th. But now it looks like I could at least drop by.

I shouldn't sign up for a game, but I would like to see if anyone wants to trade D&D minis at the game day. As a DM, I want mostly monster minis for my regular D&D game, but I got mostly character minis in my boxes. Does anyone want to bring their minis and trade with me?

Thanks.

"A Tight Spot" Game Update...

Greetings Gang,

Just in case those that signed up for "A Tight Spot" DnD 3E+ game (you know who you are) aren't checking the Message Boards on the NC Game Day IV site, I thought I would drop by with a bit of an update.

I hope to have the backgrounder and PC concepts out to everyone by 4/24. The PCs will be pregenerated and I will send a synopsis of the various PCs with mini-stat blocks. If you have a strong preference for a particular PC, then you can let me know. Also, I will allow a little "horse-trading" prior to start time.

Finally, if anyone has Battlemats and other props we could use for the session, I would be most grateful. I am going to be down on business from Maryland and don't want to lug a bunch of stuff around on my trip. Post here if you can help out.

Thanks much!

Hey O-O,

If no one has such, I can bring along my extra battlemats, or if I'm still not running a game that afternoon, you can borrow my "big 'un." I have 3 battlemats: A 36 x 48 hex mat, a 24 x 24 square mat, and a 36 x 48 square mat I'm using for my morning d20 Modern game. You're more than welcome to borrow one of them.

I'm not having any problems with it at the moment. Let me or Neal know if your problem continues.

I got your back there too, Old One. As I won't be running a game in the afternoon slot, you're welcome to use my battlemat (36x48 with hexes on one side and grid on the other). I'll also probably bring my other mats too in case somebody else needs one.

I could probably hook you up with a selection of figures too if you want to let me know approximately what you're looking for. And the players in my group are fairly big into Warhammer at the moment and have made a pretty good selection of terrain if you're interested in any of that.

Just lemme know.

Thanks, Guys...

Henry and Rel,

Thanks for the offers! I will bring my own pens, but anything else would be useful. Rel, I could definitely use some terrain and figs...

Let's see...I need 400 legionnaires, 200 auxiliaries, 800 mounted archers...ya gettin' all this? ;)

Actually, think of a hillfort guarding a narrow pass and associated terrain/props and that will about cover it. I will need lots of grunts and you will have the PC synopsis ahead of time, so any PC figs would be great.

Thanks again,

How big of a hill fort are we talking about? Speaks With Stone just recently put together a small castle that consists of four towers at the corners, walls and a gatehouse. The whole thing probably measures about two feet on a side. But it's modular so you could pare it down to just a single tower or maybe a pair of towers and put a pallisade around them.

And when you say grunts, do you mean human or non-human grunts?

Awesome...

Rel,

That would rule...sounds like that would work great if a loan is allowed. Grunts would be primarily human, with a couple of...err...um...suprises ;)!

Just got off the phone with Speaks and we are free to use the castle. It is designed to be used with Warhammer so it comes complete with wall-walks and you can place plenty of figures on the gatehouse too.

Our selection of human grunts may be somewhat limited. I've got at least a couple dozen small-scale plastic minis that I tend to use for that purpose. I also may be able to land us a chunk of figures from another player of mine (Riggs) who has an Empire Warhammer army. Can you give me a ballpark idea as to how many grunts you need?
