North Carolina Game Day IV: May 8

Hey all- See ya tomorrow. I didn't schedule my own games or sign up for anyone else's games, primarily because I'm F***ING LAZY, but I'll be there helping out with the other TrinocCon folks, and plan on running or playing in a few games. So... see ya.

PS- What the heck is the name of that game store in Cary again? The Fallen Ork? I have a few hours free today and want to stop by to see if they have the Exalted Player's Guide...

-Andy

It is Fallen Orc. It is in what used to be the Kroger Shopping Center (it is now a Big Lots) at the intersection of Kildaire Farm Road and Maynard Road.

BTW, what time does fallen Orc close today? Anyone? If it's late, I might drop in just before dinner, with it being next door and all.

My sources tell me that FO is more a cards-oriented place than RPG-oriented. But then, my sources only go there to win LotR tournaments, so take that as you will. :)

And looking forwards to tomorrow!

NO - your 133t skillz. Leave your awesome ones at home.

After 5pm, I will be toolin' down the highway goin' 79, like a twin-pipe papa whose feelin' fine... (hey dig that was that a red stop sign???) ...so I will be unavailable after that point.

See you all there! (At Errico's or the gameday, whichever you attend!)

It's 4:40 and I'm heading out of my hometown. Should be at the dinner by 7, if traffic goes well. Otherwise, I shall arrive fashionably late with Henry :)

Looking forward to it!

l33t?!?!?!?!??

You're so old school Henry, it's no longer l33t, it's now gosu (apparently anyways).

Gosu skills is what I will bring.

Well folks, here I sit, bleary eyed and tired and about to hit the sack. But I had tremendous fun today, both GMing my fantastic Sky Galleons of Mars crew and playing in Old One's RBDM Extravaganza: A Tight Spot ("A Tight Spot" might well be the understatement of the century).

It was great to see everybody again and hang out with "The Usual Supects" at the Friday night dinner. And once again, a big thanks to Neal and all the folks at Trinocon for making this a bigger, better, funner event than I could ever have imagined it growing into. I can scarcely believe that it was just barely over a year ago that we held the first ENWorld NC Game Day with probably less than two dozen people in just one room. And now the NC Game Day site has over 150 people registered!

Anyway, it was simply a blast for me and I look forward to the next one. Mark your calendars: Setember 25, same place.

And don't forget to come to Trinocon this summer for more fun gaming action.

Good night everybody.

P.S. Jeph and Corlon, both of your characters survived (barely) the end of Tight Spot, though Antonius found himself WAY in the negatives again thanks to another Fireball getting dropped on him from a Wyvern-riding Fire Witch. In the end we miraculously held out against the massively overwhelming, 60-1 odds of the Sythian Horde (you missed the "Hail of Arrows part where every PC got hit by 1d4 arrows each round - NO SAVE thanks to the 2,700 horse bowmen closing in to unleash hell on us) and kept the enemy from overunning our position until reinforcements arrived.

And the bad guys didn't get away with the safron!!

Thanks!

Thanks to Rel, NCSUCodeMonkey, Jeph, Jon, Corlon, Henry and all the organizers of NCGD IV...

A couple of old gaming buddies from Charlotte and I made the trek up for my "A Tight Spot" game...part-murder mystery, part-heroic last stand and part-"what the hell do we do now" :D! Sorry we ran a little late, guys (if you call 2.5 hours over the 5-hour time slot "a little")...but I hope everyone had fun.

My buddies quizzed me all the way home on certain "mysteries"...but I remained as cryptic as ever...just in case there is ever a "Tight Spot Redux".

I designed the scenario on a fairly tight timeline, with numerous "impact points" where the PCs could affect outcomes, discover clues and drive the course of the adventure. Some marks were hit and others missed...but despite some very unfriendly friendly fire, some appallingly bad die rolls and some excellent one-liners, all the PCs actually survived the action.

Rel won me and my buddies vote for best one-liners and quips of the night ;)!

Thanks to Henry for jumping in when one of the other players had to call it a night.

Can't stay awake after the 2.75 hour drive back down from RDU...

Hope everyone had fun and I hope to make a future NCGD!

~ Old One
