Sign-up sheets

Okay, the sign up sheets are heading to the stores.

Please contact me if there are any changes you need to make to your information.

I believe that as of tomorrow, the sign-up for this event will be live at both stores.

A general question - Since I have never been to these types of things before: is it common or uncommon to have drop-ins from bystanders (if there are open slots)?

I am already signed into an AM slot at Chantilly, but now I am _considering_ *also* hanging around for a PM game as well. Mainly to watch for a bit to see how others play, but also maybe play again. However, 1)I don't know how tired or hungry I'm going to be after playing an AM slot so I am hesitating to commit, and 2) I don't want to take a slot away from someone who hasn't had a chance to play yet (while there are spaces open now, there are still 6 weeks for others to sign up)

That is a good question. If there are slots still open before the start of a session, it means that whoever wants to play gets the spot. We've added an alternate player spot to each table in case of missing players. So the order for seating a table is assigned player, alternate player, anyone. If a player does not show up or can't play the spot goes to the alternate, and if he can't play it goes to whoever wants it.

Intentionally, we've left an hour open between sessions. This allows both players and judges to get something to eat. Believe me, as a judges I absolutely appreciate that hour.

If you want to stick around to watch the game, you are more than welcome to do so. And if there are slots open, feel free to play on the second session.

I just dropped the sign-up sheets at the Game Parlor Woodbridge store. They are going to distribute the sign-up sheet to the Chantilly store. So I'm pretty sure that live sign-up at each store will go live tonight or tomorrow.

Six weeks and counting. Hope to see you all there.

Thanks,
-Vic

UPDATE - D&D Worldwide Gameday

The planning for the Northern Virginia - D&D Worldwide Gameday is going very well. This year the games will be hosted at both Game Parlor stores (Chantilly and Woodbridge). Sign-ups are now live at both stores. You can sign-up for playing by calling the stores directly. There seems to be a lot of enthusiasm from players and we already have multiple tables full at both stores. All this is very good news.

However, we need more volunteers to judge. Recently we lost one of our judges for the Chantilly store and this has put us in a bind. The good news is that we have some time before the event.

I need at least one judge willing to judge at Chantilly, for both a morning and evening session or two judges to cover one slot each. We'd also like to get more judges for the Woodbridge Store. So if you've been on the fence about volunteering, know that we really need your help to make this event very successful.

We are hosting 3 adventures for this gameday. "Into the Shadowhaunt" is the adventure provided with the marketing kit, also "Escape from Sembia" and "Scalegloom Hall", which premiered at DDXP. We will have the DDXP adventures as of the 17th of May and we do plan to Slot 0 them, for judges that did not get a chance to play them at DDXP. Into the Shadowhaunt might not arrive with enough time to do a Slot 0, but if it does we will do the same.

So if you have the availability to judge, please do so. Please contact me off-list to volunteer. (raven0282 at yahoo dot com)

Thanks,
Vic Morales (Event Coordinator)

So how do we start the process to bribe the DM for our table? :)

(I'm impatiently waiting, I feel like playing now :( I haven't played for _years_ )
