I really like Iuz.

Lots of people call him overrated and he does make a number of deus ex machina appearances in published adventures (ToEE and Vecna Lives come to mind), but there is something about the weasely way he is portrayed in Gary Gygax's Gord the Rogue novels that made me instantly fall in love with him.

Truth be told, I am a sucker for "spit"-eating villains who are, at their core, craven and self-serving. Think Cobra Commander or Starscream. Really just think of any character voiced by Christopher Collins. Also Weyoun from Deep Space Nine and Gaius Baltar from Battlestar Galactica. I like villains who are out for themselves and have not an ounce of altruism about them.

Plus, he's a midget, which is a huge advantage in my book.

Manshoon (Forgotten Realms): From too many sources to list, this archmage has been killed and reborn dozens of times (and on one occassion dozens of times all at once). Founder of the Zhentarim (my fave Realms bad guys) and a perennial thorn in the sides of the forces of good for over a hundred years of the Realms timeline. Bit of an under acheiver though, and now playing second fiddle to Fzoul Chembryl for the forseeable future.

Dregoth (Dark Sun - City by the Silt Sea): An undead dragon with delusions of grandeur, as he seeks to become Athas's first god, no matter the cost the world must pay to elevate him to deity status. Re-created al his followers into a new race to better serve him and arose from his own death to continue his schemes.

Fzoul Chem-whatever (Forgotten Realms): Chosen of Bane. High Priest of Bane. Was responsible (whether they realized it not) for no less than 4 near-TPKs back in 2e.

After Bargle, I'd have to say Barimoor, a super-powerful megalomaniacal wizard from Mystara on the level of Ra's al Ghul.
