Notes on the Aether (Rae judging)

Keldar's head snaps round and his eyes widen as he sees the creature. "Yeah, we can see it, Sammy," says Keldar. "It's about as big as Bubbles. Hold tight!" He reaches inside his robes, and a dagger appears in each hand.

OOC - initiative 1d20+7=22; move action to draw 2 daggers (TWF). Holding off on the standard action, because I'm not sure how to interpret the map - I see 5 separate h's?? - but doubt Keldar will do anything more than that, unless he can take a 5' step closer to Rapture. Solnath - ouch.

Despite the warning, Galwynn is very slow to react.

Galwynn's Init vs. Weasel (1d20-1=1)

When he does get a chance to act, he shouts out "Protect the horses! They'll take forever to round up if they bolt!". If necessary, he'll make a Handle Animal check to keep them in order:

Galwynn's Handle Animal Check (1d20+3=19)

If that is not necessary, he'll instead move up between the horses and the weasel, readying an action to attack it with his greatsword if it comes near:

Galwynn's Readied Greatsword Attack; Damage (1d20+4=12, 2d6+3=9)

ooc: initiative 1d20+2=9
ride check to ready and load crossbow while mounted: 1d20+2=3 <== natural 1! :eek:

Tommy grabs for his crossbow, but starts to slip off his horse, and has to grab on with both hands not to tumble into the dirt.

ooc: I'll edit as necessary if you want to apply any additional penalties for the natural 1.

start round 2

Keldar pulls two daggers out of his coat and pulls two daggers. OOC: I'm going to treat the unused standard action as a readied attack on the weasel, but because it is due to me screwing up it will not effect Keldar's initiative.

Rapture charges the weasel and puts a large gash in its side with her bastard sword.

Tommy fumbles with his crossbow and nearly falls off his horse.

The weasel bites at Rapture and misses. It then slowly slinks out of Rapture's reach.

Sammy stays atop Bubbles, her presence keeping the horse in line.

Galwynn moves between the horse and the weasel and braces himself for a charge that doesn't come. OOC: are you delaying until the weasels next action?

Map
Code:
----w---------------
-------------G------        -:grass
====R=======K=Sh====        =:road
================Th==        h:horse
--------------------

Initiative:
Keldar: 22
Rapture: 20
Tommy: 9
Weasel: 8, down 6 hp
Sammy: 2
Galwynn: 1, see note

"To its far side, Rapture! I'm coming!" calls Keldar, as he poises on his toes to rush the creature and slash it with a dagger.[sblock=DM] Delaying until after Rapture acts; will then charge (with luck into a flanking position if she has moved appropriately) and hit the weasel. I'll let you do the rolling (Keldar Warbray; dagger melee attack +4; damage 1d4+2; if flanking +6, 1d4+2+1d6 (Edit: oops, forgot the charge bonus)).[/sblock]

"Ghik rhyaex, wux pothoc baeshra!" Tommy shouts as he slides awkwardly to the ground. Taking more care this time, he pulls out his crossbow and looks for a shot.
[sblock=Draconic]"Orc meat, you stupid animal!"[/sblock]
ooc: Move action to get off the horse (failed DC 20 ride check to get down as a free action), and another move action to get out the crossbow. I probably still have to load the damn thing, too. :\

Sammy leans slightly forward to whisper calming words to Bubbles, all the time trying to pinpoint the weasel with her senses.
[sblock=OOC]No real action taken.[/sblock]
